Game Previews!
All eight PWHL teams will be in action tomorrow, and it will be our last PWHL hockey before they go on break for a month for the Olympics. Lock in!
Hey, my name is 365. I talk about PWHL every day. Normally, I'm focused on Seattle Torrent, but tomorrow’s gonna be a movie, so let’s break it all down.
First up, we’ve got the Toronto Sceptres versus the Montreal Victoire. That’s gonna be at 6:30 EST, 3:30 PST, in Place Bell in Laval. Toronto versus Montreal is one of the best rivalries in hockey, ever. It’s one of the best PWHL rivalries.
Montreal Victoire is currently undefeated at Place Bell, but the last time these two teams met, it was in the Bell Centre, and Toronto defeated Montreal. The Sceptres are coming off a tough road trip, losing to Vancouver and Seattle. They’ve slowly been falling down the standings, so they really need to win this one. But as I mentioned, Victoire is just very, very, very hard to beat at home.
Next up, we’ve got the Seattle Torrent versus the Ottawa Charge. That’ll be at 7 PM EST, 4 PM PST, at TD Place in Ottawa. I honestly don’t really think these two teams have beef yet, but they’re both kind of sitting at the bottom of the standings, so both of these teams are gonna be desperate for a win. I don’t really think there’s a heavy favorite here, although the Seattle Torrent did have a pretty decisive 4–1 win against the Ottawa Charge in their last meeting. But that was at Climate Pledge Arena, and Seattle has struggled a lot on the road.
Happening at the same time, we’ve got New York Sirens versus Boston Fleet at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. Boston versus New York has gotta be one of my favorite rivalries in the PWHL. There’s always just so many penalties. New Yorkers will say the rivalry is forced and one-sided, but all I know is, things get crazy.
The New York Sirens have been silently putting together a pretty good season, and Boston is still holding on to that No. 1 spot. You’ll notice they have fewer games played than a lot of other teams. Their last meeting was a 2–0 win for Boston in Newark.
And finally, we’ve got Vancouver Goldeneyes versus Minnesota Frost. That’ll be at 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM local, 6 PM Pacific. The Goldeneyes have been pretty hot recently since completing that six-player trade with Ottawa and getting Sarah Nurse back from injury.
On the flip side, Minnesota Frost has looked really good this entire season. I still think Minnesota is one of the best teams in the league. Not to jinx it. Vancouver’s recent wins came against Seattle and Toronto, so this will be a real test to see if this Vancouver team is actually legit.
