🏠 Czeching in from Kalamazoo, MI!

I’m making my mom study by reading my blog post LOL, Feb 3, 2026
I’m originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, which is a small city located in Southwest Michigan, in between Detroit and Chicago. I lived in NYC for a bit before moving out to Seattle for work. I recently quit that job for my mental health so I’m currently just vibing and making women’s hockey content. I decided to visit Kalamazoo for a while because my mom is recovering from breast cancer surgery (don’t worry, she’s doing really well now!).

I got my mom and my stepdad Mike tickets to the Detroit PWHL game and they had a lot of fun! I’m really excited to watch this tournament with them!

🇨🇿 Why I’m Excited About Czech Women’s Hockey
Czechia won bronze in the 2022 and 2023 Women’s World Championships.
The 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Czechia was the highest attended Women’s World Championship ever.
Czechia lost to the US in the 2025 Women’s Worlds semifinal but it was only 2-1. 👀
Czechia lost the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship bronze medal game on home soil.
Czech forward Kristyna “Kalty” Kaltounkova was the first overall pick in the 2025 PWHL draft.
Team Czechia has the most PWHL players after the US and Canada.
Czechia has never medalled at the Olympics. But I think they can do it this year.

Czechia players are defeated at the 2025 Women’s World Championships in Czechia. Finland made a dramatic comeback in the third period and won the bronze medal in overtime.

Team Czechia goaltender
Standout performance in the 2025 Women’s World Championships (saved 43/45 shots against the USA to keep the score 2-1)
You might know her from her time with the Boston Fleet in the PWHL last year 🍊
Currently playing for Brynäs IF in the SDHL (Swedish Women’s Hockey League)
Her stats in the SDHL seem kinda average but I haven’t been watching SDHL so I can’t contextualize them.
🇺🇸 Team USA Game Changers
Caroline Harvey #4 and Laila Edwards #10

@kkharvey4 First of many #teamusa @laila edwards
I’m REALLY excited about this Caroline Harvey and Laila Edwards duo.
Both play at University of Wisconsin in the NCAA
Will both be at the top of the PWHL draft
Both defenders on Team USA but Laila Edwards actually plays forward in college!
This is Caroline Harvey’s 2nd Olympics (she was the youngest player on Team USA last year at 19 years old!)
This is Laila Edward’s Olympic debut and she will be the first Black player to represent Team USA in women’s hockey!
I mostly watch PWHL instead of NCAA hockey so I’m really excited to watch these two.
Coming Soon!
I’ll be doing a postgame live stream with Black Rosie Media, watch here!
