🚨 We Sold Out Madison Square Garden!
TBT to when I went to the lowest-Attended PWHL game of all time, where only 728 people attended. It was March 6, 2024 at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT.
Since then, I’ve been so privileged to be a part of breaking the US women’s hockey attendance record multiple times: First at the 2022 Rivalry Series game in Seattle with 14,551 fans, then again at the Seattle home opener in November 2025 with 16,014 fans, then again at the Torrent homecoming game after the 2026 Olympics 17,335 fans, and finally, at Madison Square Garden with 18,006 fans.
It takes 10 years to be an overnight success. It feels like the PWHL has grown so quickly, but so many people have been working to grow the sport for so many years. It’s about damn time the rest of the world caught up!

literally so many queer kisses on the jumbotron!

I’M WALKING ON AIR
I lived a thousand lives that day:
🍕 Thank You, NYC + Lore Drop!
My College Ruby Era 🏉
I went to college at Columbia University in NYC, where I studied computer science 🤓. I played soccer growing up, but it was in college that I discovered how much I really loved playing sports. I played rugby in college, and I especially loved the physical aspect of the game and the rugby community. It was the same physicality and women’s sports community that made me a fan of the PWHL!

My First PWHL Game!
My very first PWHL game was March 3, 2024, at UBS arena during the first year of the PWHL! I was living in Seattle at the time, but I was traveling to New York to visit friends, and after watching the PWHL on Youtube, I was so excited to go to a game in real life! PWHL Minnesota won 2-0 but I still had so much fun!

Desbiens is having a spectacular season with 6 shutouts so far!

16,150 fans showed up on a Wednesday night to watch the first ever PWHL game in Calgary!

📍 Ottawa
Sandra Abstreiter recorded a 39-save shutout and Kaitlin Willoughby got her first two PWHL career goals!
The attendance of 17,114 fans at Canadian Tire Centre is especially noteworthy because the Charge may have to find a new arena to play in, but CTC is notoriously hard to get to.
The fan reactions to the reffing was so real 😭

Sat, Apr 4: Minnesota defeats Vancouver 6-5; Minnesota clinches a playoff spot!
📍 St. Paul
I was just checking the score for this one and I was like, what is going on 😂 4 points for Kelly Pannek (2G, 2A), but what a lot of Goldeneyes fans will likely remember is an early whistle that led to one of the Goldeneyes’ goals being waved off. [watch my explanation]

Sat, Apr 4: New York defeats Seattle 2-1 in shootouts at Madison Square Garden!
📍 New York City
Watch my game recap!
This was such a nail-biter, as the Sirens were trailing 1-0 in the third, but Sarah Fillier scored the game-tying goal to take it to overtime! The game went all the way to shootouts and the Sirens got it done in front of their amazing home crowd!

👑 Tops and Bottoms of the Week
Top 🔝: New York Sirens. The Sirens got some much-needed wins this week. Despite both of them being OT / shootout wins, winning at Madison Square Garden is such a huge win and they are still very much in this playoff race. 🙏
Bottom 💔: Ottawa Charge. The Charge lost in Calgary in front of 16K fans to the Sceptres, who they are competing with for the 4th playoff spot. They also got shut out in front of 17K fans at the Canadian Tire Centre. 😔

🔁 Trade Deadline
We had one more PWHL trade before the March 30 deadline: the Sirens traded defender Jincy Roese to the Frost for forward Denisa Křížová.
